A Commitment to Green Art Practices

I aim to make environmentally conscious choices throughout my art practice wherever possible. I use water-based acrylics, chalk-based pastels rather than oil pastels, and non-toxic white spirit when working with oil paints. My intention is always to choose safer, lower-impact materials while maintaining the quality of the work.

Sustainability also guides how my work is presented. My cards are printed locally in the West Country on sustainably sourced card and packaged in biodegradable wrappers. I reuse and upcycle frames whenever I can, work with a local framer, and often use reclaimed wood offcuts as painting panels. Whenever possible, I choose locally sourced materials and services.

Sustainable Studio Practice

I aim to recycle and reuse wherever possible in my studio. Packaging is kept to a minimum, paper is recycled, and materials are repurposed whenever they can be. Old brushes are reused for mark-making, canvases and wood offcuts become new painting surfaces, frames are repurposed and glass jars or old crockery are used for mixing paints instead of plastic.
