Welcome to Redfern Art Studio. These Terms & Conditions apply to the purchase of original artwork, commissioned artwork, giclée prints, photographic prints, art cards, and tutoring services provided by Jacqueline Redfern trading as Redfern Art.

1. Commissioned Artwork

Commission Agreement

Before any commissioned artwork begins, the following will be agreed between the client and the artist:

  • Subject and style
  • Size and dimensions
  • Medium and materials
  • Canvas or surface type
  • Estimated completion time
  • Total cost
  • Delivery or shipping arrangements

Work will only begin once both parties have agreed to these details.

Deposit

A non-refundable deposit of 30% of the agreed commission price is required before work commences. This covers the cost of materials and preparation.

Final Payment

If the client is happy with the completed artwork:

  • The remaining balance must be paid in full before delivery or shipping.
  • Shipping and packaging costs must also be paid before dispatch.
  • Artwork will be shipped as soon as reasonably possible after payment is received.

If the Client Declines the Artwork

If the client decides not to proceed with the final purchase:

  • The deposit remains non-refundable.
  • Ownership of the artwork remains with Jacqueline Redfern.
  • No further payment will be required.

Copyright

All copyright and intellectual property rights remain with Jacqueline Redfern unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Artwork may not be reproduced, copied, resold, or used commercially without written permission from the artist.

2. Original Artwork

All original artworks are sold subject to availability.

Every effort is made to display colours accurately, however slight variations may occur depending on screen settings and photography.

Full payment is required before shipping or collection.

3. Giclée Prints

Professional giclée prints are produced using high-quality archival printing processes, primarily through Redcliffe Imaging.

  • Print dimensions and specifications will be confirmed before purchase.
  • Limited edition prints may include a certificate of authenticity.
  • Prints are carefully packaged for safe delivery.

If a print arrives damaged, please contact Redfern Art as soon as possible with photographs of the damage so the issue can be resolved. Replacement prints may be offered where appropriate.

4. Photographic Prints

High-definition photographic prints produced by Redfern Art are quality checked before dispatch.

To preserve print quality, prints should be:

  • Kept out of direct sunlight
  • Protected from excessive heat or damp
  • Properly stored or framed

When properly cared for, print quality is expected to remain stable for up to three years.

Damage caused by mishandling, environmental conditions, or improper storage is not covered.

5. Art Cards

Art cards are professionally printed by external specialist printers.

Minor colour variations between print batches may occur.

6. Tutoring Services

Art tutoring may take place:

  • At the Redfern Art home studio
  • At an agreed external venue
  • Online where applicable

Lesson details, duration, and fees will be agreed in advance.

Redfern Art reserves the right to reschedule sessions due to illness or unforeseen circumstances.

7. Shipping & Delivery

All items must be paid for in full before dispatch.

Delivery times may vary due to:

  • Postal or courier services
  • Bank holidays
  • Weather conditions
  • Customs or transport delays

Redfern Art will always aim to dispatch orders promptly but cannot guarantee delivery dates once items are with the courier or postal service.

8. Damaged Goods

If an item arrives damaged, please contact Redfern Art promptly with photographs of:

  • The damaged item
  • Packaging materials
  • External packaging

Where appropriate, a replacement, repair, or refund may be offered in line with UK consumer law.

9. Returns & Refunds

Under UK consumer law, eligible non-personalised items purchased online may usually be returned within 14 days of receipt.

Returned items must be:

  • Unused
  • In original condition
  • Securely packaged

Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer unless the item is faulty.

Please note: Commissioned or personalised artwork is exempt from standard cancellation rights once work has begun.

10. Legal Information

Nothing within these Terms & Conditions affects your statutory rights under UK consumer law.

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
